Starting the Day at Fusaki Resort (6:30AM–9:00AM)

Our third day in Ishigaki started bright and early with the resort’s breakfast buffet and excitement for our upcoming Ishigaki SUP tour in the afternoon. with the resort’s breakfast buffet. While the kids were excited to hit the pool, mom took advantage of the resort’s laundry facilities. Fusaki Resort provides washers and dryers, which is a lifesaver for traveling families. If your clothes are dryer-safe, you can cut down on packing and keep things fresh mid-trip.

At 9:00AM, we headed to the main pool area. Since the pool officially opens at 9:00, arriving right on time let us grab some of the best poolside seats. That said, even if you’re a little late, there are usually parasols available either slightly off to the side or toward the beach area, so no need to rush.
Compared to our last visit five years ago around the same time, the crowds seemed much more manageable. Back then, the breakfast area had long lines, but this time, there were still open seats available until around 7:30AM. The pool area also felt a bit more relaxed, even though there were still plenty of families enjoying the water. The kids spent their morning splashing around in the family-friendly water park while the grownups got a chance to relax. With the sun peeking through the clouds after a week of typhoon warnings, the weather was finally working in our favor.
Lunch at Mirumiru Honpo Burger Spot (12:00PM–1:30PM)

For lunch, we returned to one of our all-time favorites: Mirumiru Honpo burger. It’s about a 5-minute taxi ride or 20-minute scenic walk from Fusaki Resort. Years ago, we had their burger at the airport location, and we couldn’t forget the taste. This time, we visited their main shop overlooking the ocean.
Their set combo of juicy burgers, drinks, and homemade gelato hit the spot again. On the walk back downhill, grandma and grandpa even spotted a peacock!
Ishigaki SUP Tour – First-Time Family Experience (3:00PM–4:00PM)

Originally, we had a SUP tour booked through another operator, but it was cancelled due to typhoon-related schedule changes. Luckily, the hotel offered its own Ishigaki SUP tour, and we managed to join a 1-hour family-friendly session starting at 3:00PM.
It turned out to be a highlight of the trip – calm waves, fresh ocean breeze, and no rain! Definitely one of the most memorable family-friendly Ishigaki activities.
Sushi Dinner at Akebono – A Local Favorite (6:00PM–7:30PM)

After the tour, we took warm baths, changed clothes, and headed out by taxi for dinner. Our last night in Ishigaki deserved something special, and Akebono Sushi Ishigaki was the perfect pick.
From kid-friendly sushi (no wasabi!) to grilled prawns and our favorite sea grapes, every bite reminded us why this spot has remained a top choice since our last visit.
Sunset at Fusaki Beach – A Perfect Goodbye (7:30PM)

As the sky turned orange over the water, we took one last stroll to soak in the Fusaki Resort sunset. It finally revealed itself on our final night – a fitting and rare send-off. After several days of cloudy skies and uncertain weather, catching that beautiful sunset felt even more special.
Next Destination(Day4): Wild Beauty of Iriomote (7:30AM Departure)

The next morning, we checked out at 7:30AM and took a taxi to the Ishigaki ferry terminal. At 8:30AM, we boarded a boat headed for Uehara Port in Iriomote Island. The second half of our Okinawa adventure was about to begin.
Though the forecast had predicted a full week of rain, we only had scattered showers, and the Iriomote weather outlook was starting to brighten. Lucky us!
Time to switch gears: kayak tours, snorkeling, and jungle nights await in the wild beauty of Iriomote.
